If life is a theatre, then the home is merely just another stage; and all of its occupants, performers and an audience in a theatrical act. A home for a 60 year old shadow puppet master and his tenant family, the terrace house is created with a series of theatres, spaces designated for a specific act, in the theatre of daily life.

The terrace house is divided into two parts, with the shadow puppet master’s component able to function separate and independent of the tenants. The shadow puppet master uses the tenant family to study their movements and mannerisms, with key indicators or markers within the house allowing him to know which spaces are being used. The shadow puppet master holds weekly performances at the front of the house.
